Emad Kiyaei says diplomacy has worked in Iran talks
/In an exclusive interview with HuffPost Live, AIC Executive Director, Emad Kiyaei, noted that the nuclear framework deal is a testament to diplomacy and paves a path for world powers to avoid a military confrontation with Iran.
When asked about sanctions relief, Kiyaei said, "I believe that initially, the EU sanctions will be lifted or suspended, followed by the UN Security Council sanctions, and then finally the expectation is that those nuclear related sanctions that the US has placed on Iran will be lifted through a presidential exemption waiver, basically to suspend it."
He went on to add that the amount of detail released in the preliminary deal was surprising and that this is the first step toward reaching bilateral normalization between the US and Iran.
