In interview with Al Jazeera America, Dr. Hooshang Amirahmadi discusses Iran's economic woes

In this interview with Al Jazeera America, AIC Founder and President Dr. Hooshang Amirahmadi discusses how sanctions are not in fact causing the most economic difficulty for Iranians. Rather, he believes that the mismanagement of the economy by the government has been the main cause, and he explains how the private sector in Iran is undeveloped. He says of Iran's former president, "Ahmadinejad was a populist coming from the working class background. He was very populist and the one trying to put money in the streets and give to the ordinary people." Amirahmadi goes on to say that Ahmadinejad mismanaged the economy by allowing the government to dominate the economy.
