Dr. Akbar Ghahary
Chairman and CEO, SAFAS Corporation
Dr. Akbar Ghahary, an industrialist and executive in the manufacturing sector, is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of Safas Corporation. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society and Society of Plastic Engineers, a member of the advisory board of Iranian American Chemists Association.
Dr. Ghahary has over 40 years of experience in polymer design and composites and owns many US and International patents, mostly in polymers and advanced composites, including GRANICOAT (R), the award-winning product that Safas Corporation Manufactures and markets worldwide.
Dr. Ghahary has been a former President of the Persian Cultural and Humanitarian Association; present Chairman of the Board of the Encyclopedia Iranica Foundation; and the co-founder and President of the Persian Cultural Foundation (PCF).
