Ambassador Frank G. Wisner
Former Vice Chairman, AIG
Ambassador Frank George Wisner serves as an Advisor of International Affairs at Patton Boggs LLP. Ambassador Wisner is an advisor to Kissinger Associates. He served as United States Ambassador to India from July 1994 to July 1997. He served as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy from 1993 to 1994 of United States Government and served as Career Ambassador, the highest grade in the Foreign Service.
He joined the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer in 1961 and served in a variety of overseas and Washington positions during his career. He served as Senior Deputy Assistant Secretary for African Affairs from 1982 to 1986 and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Department of State since 1977. He served as Under Secretary of State for International Security Affairs from 1992 to 1993.
Ambassador Wisner served as the Vice Chairman of External Affairs at American International Group Inc. since 1997. He serves as Vice Chairman of AIG Offshore Systems Services Inc. He serves as a Trustee of Rockefeller Brothers Fund. He served as a Director of American International Group Inc., from 1997 to 2003. Ambassador Wisner was educated at Princeton University.
