Nowruz Greetings
/Dear Friend,
On behalf of everyone here at the American Iranian Council, we wish you a Happy Nowruz!
Nowruz is the first day of spring and the first day of the new Iranian calendar year, which will be 1400 on March 21 (2021). Nowruz has been celebrated for over three millennia, and Iranians of all religious and ethnic orientations share in the joys and prosperity it promises.
After a difficult four years in US-Iran relations under the Trump administration, it is with cautious optimism that we write to ask for your support towards a renewed effort in improving US-Iran relations during the Biden administration.
Nowruz is known as a time for fresh beginnings. It is when old relationships are rekindled through face-to-face exchanges (deed-o bazdeed) and the old states are cleansed (khouneh tekuni). We are looking forward to a new beginning in US-Iran relations as well.
Over the past three decades, AIC’s mission has been to reduce tensions and promote peace through dialogue and diplomacy. Many of our achievements have been historic, and you can view them on our website: www.us-iran.org.
While there is no perfect route to a ‘fresh new start’, AIC calls on both sides to demonstrate good will and give diplomacy and peace a chance. We will be there to help as in the past.
Please consider helping the Council to sustain its diplomatic and peace-building efforts.
This year we will continue to hold events and publish a wide array of educational and informative materials, including:
Policy papers
Myth vs. Fact pieces to address misconceptions about Iran
Media Guides to inform news outlets and consumers about major issues in the news relating to Iran
Industry Spotlights highlighting various economic sectors in the country
Iran Digests, our popular summary of the top news involving Iran each week
AIC Updates, which include insightful analyses from our Board members and administrators
With your support in 1400, we can continue this important work. Please click here to show your support. Your contributions to AIC are tax-deductible.
